Rooibos is also called “bush tea,” Rooibos is in fact a shrub with yellow flowers that grows naturally near the Cederberg Mountains, Although this shrub can grow as tall as half a meter to a meter, this plant is usually harvested at a height of 20 cm in the period January to March,

The needle-like leaves are green when they are picked, Then the leaves are bruised and wetted which triggers a chemical fermentation process, This creates the beautiful dark red color, Then the next day the needles are placed in the African sun to further oxidize, For this reason, besides “bush tea”, rooibos is also called “red tea”,
