Oolong tea, like black and green tea, is a traditional type of tea, but there is so much more to discover “There is soo much more to discover”.

Depending on the degree of oxidation, the taste of lightly oxidized oolongs tends to be green tea and of heavily oxidized oolongs tends to be black tea. As you can imagine, there is a huge variety among them, from the typical nutty to delightfully floral characters. Therefore, let yourself be surprised by the wonderful palette of flavors of our delicious oolongs.

This delicious oolong comes from Wuhan, the starting point of the tea trade route to Mongolia. However, the most famous trade route is surely the Silk Route. The silk-like taste of this delicious oolong, reminds you of the ancient Silk Route, along which for many centuries trade was conducted between China and the East of Asia, Middle East and the Mediterranean on the other side.

Foodpairing

Combine this slightly oxidized oolong with a piece of (smoked) cheese and experience how the silky taste of this tea comes out even better.

Put/Serve Advice

Zetadvies:

Water: 100°C
Tea: 2g / 1 tsp per cup (150 ml)
Infusion: 2 minutes

Supplies:

1 glass of ice tea – 400ml 1 carafe of ice tea – 1.2L
Soolong Teamaker (400ml) 2x Soolong Teapot original (1500ml) +
1x Soolong stainless steel tea filter with double handle
Soolong Ice tea glass (400ml) 3x Soolong Ice Tea Glass (400ml)
Boiling water (200ml – 100°C) Boiling water (600ml – 100°C)
Crushed ice (200ml) Crushed ice (600ml)
Loose Tea: Soolong 13 China Taste Silky (4g=2tl)
*Possibility to top up 3 times after use, in that case extend the infusion time

Preparation 400ml:
1. Fill the teamaker with 4 grams (2tl) of loose tea (Soolong No. 13) and add 200 ml of boiling water (about half of the teamaker). Allow the tea to steep for 2-5 minutes.
2. Next, fill the ice tea glass with 200ml of crushed ice (about half of the glass).
3. After the infusion time has passed, place the teamaker on the ice tea glass.
4. Optional: People who like sweet can add a little brown sugar, syrup or honey.
5. Then place the lid on the icetea glass and insert the stainless steel straw into the glass.

Preparation method 1200ml:
1. Fill the teapot with 12 grams (6 tsp) of loose tea (Soolong No. 13) and add 600 ml of boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 2-5 minutes.
2. Next, fill the 2nd teapot with 600ml of crushed ice (about half of the teapot) and place the stainless steel tea filter with double handle in the teapot.
3. After the infusion time has passed, pour the tea from the 1st teapot through the filter over the ice into the 2nd teapot.
4. Pour the ice tea into the ice tea glasses.
6. Optional: People who like sweet can add a little brown sugar, syrup or honey.
5. Next, place the lids on the icetea glasses and insert the stainless steel straw.
